Project Details

In order to have a holistic approach in restoration of Chennai waterways, the Government of Tamil Nadu have proposed to take up the restoration of Kosasthalaiyar River from Karanodai Bridge to Ennore Creek under the aegis of Chennai Rivers Restoration Trust. Accordingly, Detailed Project Report is being prepared to mitigate sewage pollution, solid waste management, boundary demarcation and fixing of boundary stone, plantation and river channel improvement, etc. The restoration works for the ecological restoration of Kosasthalaiyar River from Karanodai Bridge to Ennore Creek will be taken shortly.
