Project Details
In order to ensure a comprehensive restoration of waterways in Chennai city, the Government have sanctioned Rs.1,281.88 crore for the restoration of Buckingham Canal and its associated drains and major drains of Adyar and Cooum River. Preliminary works such as boundary survey and boundary demarcation through Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) survey and fixing of boundary stone are being taken up by respective implementing agencies i.e. Water Resources Department and Greater Chennai Corporation.
